Lifestyle Junior Golf Tour

About Us

Mission Statement

The Lifestyle Junior Golf Tour strives to create a competitive environment, building character and sportsmanship in all its participants. Our tour includes boys and girls ages 8-19 and Collegiate Men & Women from Northern Indiana and Southwest Michigan. We welcome all players from any State in the Union

We strive to play the finest private and public facilities in our region. We also want each player to feel like they are playing in the Masters or US Open each week.

Our yearlong points race in each age group is much like the Fed Ex Cup points race on the PGA Tour

Targeting these courses and running top notch tournaments ensures growth in the game overall.

2Currently the tournament schedule features 12 summer events followed by a Tournament of Champions for all age group winners. The season ends with the Cup Match, a Ryder Cup match.

Now at over 500 players, the tour is expected to reach 520 - 550 players in 2023.

The Lifestyle Junior Golf Tour Director, John Fischer PGA Professional

John has been a PGA Golf Professional for 38 years. He has managed private country clubs in Michigan and Indiana. John's passion for teaching and growing the game through solid instruction and golf specific fitness programs, has grown the youth game of golf immensely in the Michiana area.

John is the Bethel University Men's Golf Coach and recruits worldwide for this Christian University based in South Bend, Indiana

John's proudest accomplishment as a PGA Professional has been to take over as Tour Director for a struggling junior golf tour in Elkhart County, that in 2010 had dropped to 30 juniors and out of those there were only 3 girls competing throughout the summer. With many changes of venues, and what John feels was a genuine interest in each and every one of the players games, he had faith that they all were going to get better each and every year, by leading them in the right direction through instruction, fitness and fitting them with the proper equipment. John enjoys listening to each player on what is important to them in their lives besides golf. John is proud to say that after 13 years of what he calls making each kid feel like they are playing in the Master's, the tour has grown to over 500 kids in 2022 and more importantly, 150 plus girls.

John coached the JV & Varsity girls of St. Joseph High School in South Bend, Indiana. 22 girls made the team in 2016. This was the largest girls' team in the Northern Indiana region. John currently coaches the Bethel University Men's Golf Team. Build It was his motto and as John tells all his players and students that he will give you the Tools, but you have to Build the House. In 2018 the Saint Joe Girls made it to the Indiana State Golf Championship

John was on the committee which helped bring the First Tee to Elkhart County in 2016. They now teach golf in the curriculum in 70 plus schools in Michiana. This program is offered in grades Kindergarten - 5th.

Gabby Shipley and her sister Sara were two of John's students when he lived in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Gabby and Sara were taught by John from middle school through their high school careers. Gabby in 2016 won the NCAA Division 2 National Women's Golf Collegiate Championship in Colorado. Gabby played 4 years for Grand Valley State. Sara had her own success as a junior golfer and is now a Senior at the University of Kentucky on a full golf scholarship. John tears up when talking about these sisters who were just little girls when we started the journey.

He loves watching the growth of all his players from year to year and whether they play competitively after their youth career's or just play for the love of the game, John talks about the friendships that were forged with all his players. No matter what success they did or did not have on the links. He will remember their friendships longer than their golf swings.
